I have a GS300 (2002) and noticed it has poor radio reception while driving. I see there is no external radio antenna so I thought this is probably why. I assume the antenna must be internal in the frame.
Does any else have this same problem? If so can I insert a antenna booster or something to improve the radio reception?
Thank you,
Kevin

Hello,
I also experience poor reception when in A/M and F/M. I do like to listen to radio every now and then, but it is disappointing at best. I don't know how you canimprove the reception without installing an outside antenna. Just the though of drilling holes in the body makes me sick.
Some cars have "diversity" antennas, meaning that there are more than one placed around the car. There is computer logic applied to these antennas, and the one with the strongest signal is sent to the radio. This changes from second to second as the signal changes. The is supposed to be the ideaI situation, but I still think the external antenna is far superior to any window mounted assembly.
thanks

The main antenna box is on the passenger side C-pillar (see pic).

Did any of you tint your windows with reflective/metallic type tints? I remembering threads on navigation and/or radio reception problems due to those type of tints on the rear window.
Do a search and you should find more on this.

Just got XM Radio installed on my GS400. Works awesome! Purchased the "Commander" model. Uses an FM Modulator, so no modification to the stock radio is needed. Uses a micro antenna that fit in the corner of my dash well out of the way. Be happy to answer any questions...
