I recently bought an LX 450 and am having some trouble with the CD changer. It cycles through the discs and the gives a "CD Error 21" message. Anyone seen this or know what the problem is? Unfortunately I don't have a manual so I haven't looked there.

Thanks, Jody.

Lightbulb Take It Back

Jody - Had the same trouble with my factory GS4 changer. It kept flashing "E-21" & I had to have the dealer replace the changer itself. I tried resetting it but it kept acting up. I think the down codes are listed in a dealer's manual, not the owner's one so I'd head back to your dealership.

Gene, thanks for the advice, I'll check with the local dealer soon. Not being under warranty I may have to wait for Christmas to replace it - $$$!

BTW, you mentioned resetting your changer, is there a button somewhere to do this?

Thanks again.

Question CD Changer

Jody - Get me the part number on your CD changer as i still have my old one ( sorry but I gave the magazines to Alex awhile ago ). I don't need it since I upgraded to the Alpine model I have now & will be glad to send it to ya - can't promise that it works but it won't cost ya anything to try it!

Thanks for the offer Mean Gene, but my changer is a 6-disc and I suspect yours is a 12-disc? I'll have to pull it out one of these days and give it a shake. It's mounted in the center console so will probably take some work to get out.

And Francis... I'll get some info up on the LX forum soon.
(It's an Emerald Pearl 1996 450 with all the toys, most of which work!)

Thanks,
Jody

Smile 6 Disc

Jody - FWIW, mine's a 6 disc changer as well - didn't get the "upgraded" Nakamichi system as I knew i was gonna gut things & start from scratch. Mine was in the glove box but might be the same one? Let me know if U change your mind. BTW - I tried the reset button but no luck.
