For months, I have been fighting to rid my car of engine noise coming through the speakers. I have tried everything from reconnecting grounds, adding filters, replacing analog amps to digital amps...etc. What else can I try?? At this point, I am desperate.
Just to give you the packground on my system, here is everything (everything I can think of at least):
Alpine IDA-D900 w/ XM
Alpine EQ (I don't know the model number, but it's a couple years old)
Neo speakers
2 Dual Coil Planet Audio Subs
2 New Planet Audio digital amplifiers
6 disk MP3 changer (in stock changers location).
If model numbers will help, let me know.
Right now, the brain for the head unit is sitting under the passanger seat and the EQ is resting just underneath the head unit. I have unplugged the EQ thinking it might be causing the problem, but that did not help.
I have completely run out of ideas. PLEASE HELP. Has anyone else had this problem.
BTW, I also had an engine noise issue with my K-40 system (built in radar sensor and laser scrambler). It didn't take long to figure out that problem was caused by the speakers sitting to close to the tachometer.

Since you checked the grounds, start changing RCA cables first. Keep them away from power cables especially where they connect to your amps. If that does not help, one of your equipment units is faulty.

This is probably the first thing I would check out, remove it from the loop and see what happens...
