what do you guys think about this? i'm a audio noob but please tell me this includes the sub with the box. will i need a special amp for this? how is this compared to the other subs? i heard polk subs were very high quality and has very clear bass. I'm going to drop this in the back and pull out the stock sub. Is this 12 inch sub the same sub as the polk 12 inch sub http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/POLMM124. Thanks for the help


p.s how does this sub compare to the infiniti kappa perfect vq 12. i believe that is the correct name. infiniti's top of the line 12 inch sub.

I'm a big fan of PolkAudio. I plan to swap out my Infinity Reference subs for 2 MM12s. The only require .88ft3 so you can use a small box that fits on the little ledge behind the back seat in the trunk. The are accurate, deep (down to 18hz even thought they advertise 23hz) and durable. Dynamic Balance cone prevents distortion and the can handle 500 watts RMS / 1000 watts peak each.

After the upgrade I'll have an all PolkAudio system. Some people here are that crazy for the Polk sound but I love it.

I don't know anything about PPI's subs but CAr Audio and Electronics magazine featured the Infinity Kappa Variable Q Sub a couple months ago. Here's the review:
