Video-Nav-URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im installing the vlad-kit in my car. The remote that came with is not working, because the red ball is messed up. This is what my installer was saying. Does anyone know what might be wrong with it? If there is a solution to this what is it?

So you are using the GEX-p7000TV with the Vlad kit, right. The remote that comes with the GEX is a small remote, but does not have a "red ball". So, you must be refering to the remote eye that plugs into the Vlad black box. If the eye is messed up you can replace it with a Radio Shack remote eye part #276-137. All you need to do is identify the ground (GND) and +5 volt wire on your existing IR remote eye with a volt meter and connect it to the GND and Vcc of this IR remote eye. Then connect the last (3rd) wire to the OUT pin of this IR eye and you will be operational.

The GEX is a little tricky device... let me give you a couple of t-shooting ideas.
1. If you have the Vlad kit installed and have a black screen (no navigation) with your car keys in accessory position then the GEX-P7000TV is NOT on. It needs to be turned on by the remote controller by holding down the V.SEL button for at least 2 seconds while pointing at the remote eye.
If you still don't get any video check your power connections for ground, battery and accessory.
2. If you get a navigation screen, but no video connected to your video 1/2 inputs you need to go into the GEX setup menu by pressing the MENU button on the remote and turning ON your Video1 and/or Video2 input. Then select between NAVI and VCR1 by pressing the V.SEL button.

I'm in the Seattle Washington area. I don't normally do installs for people, but if you where stuck and in the Seattle area I'd help 
. I don't think Vlad any install shops across the country and your best bet would be to find another CL member in your area who has installed the Vlad kit or has one installed you can look at exactly how it was done.
