You don't need to give up your valet key BUT the x module doesn't always work as well as the u module. I would suggest giving up the valet key. I have the 791 and love it. Also if you put a remote start and alarm it doesn't make it easier to steal in anyway. You still can't hot wire unless you are a real pro.

I agree with installing the alarm doesnt' mean it is easlier to steal the car because it is bypassed by the key already placed in it.....if someones wants that car they will take it by tow or some or other ways....if not that day then the next day....The alarm works really good, good features. I recommended
