Im looking to replace my subwoofer in my 90 LS400 with a Nakamichi system, I have seen that the normal subwoofer is 40 watts and I am wondering if the Nakamichi subwoofer is any different, any information on the stats of the system and sub would be a great help to me, thanks!

The '90 LS400 Nak subwoofer amp is a "conservative" 80 watts.

I'd like to get my hands on the original subwoofer as well. for the 93LS400 with nak. option.
I just dont want to pay $550 for a paper cone woofer that the dealer quoted ! and I def. don't want to install an aftermarket woofer by cutting and scraping and adding another amp just for it. It simply doesnt match the original setup and destroys the sound staging .
Anyone know where we can get the original sub for a decent price ?

You should be able to get a Nak LS400 8" subwoofer from a salvage/recycling yard for $100 or less. '93 and '94 are the same parts # and the '90, '91 and '92 should also work. It is just as difficult to find a comprable 8" aftermarket subwoofer as the original. And I agree re maintaining the original soundstage. The subwoofer in your '93 LS400 with the Nak system is getting about 120 watts from the Nak amp with 40 watts going to each door midrange speaker for a total of 280 watts.
