Hi all:

I just got a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Car kit (HCB-30). I'm in northern Virginia and need an installer in the Washington DC metro area who can install it into my 2001 LS-430. Any recommendations? It looks pretty easy, but I'd prefer someone who has done it before on a LS with Nav/Mark Levinson.

For anyone who has installed the kit in a LS-430, where's a good place to put the speaker?

 

If you do have not found a cell phone installer, you might ask a Lexus dealer or repair shop - maybe they would do the install or make a recommendation. The key is to find someone who knows how to take apart the trim to run the wiring and place the components. I have not had much luck with installers and have often ended up moving components and relocating the wiring that they installed. The last time - a few months ago, I did the install myself on a 00 LS - a non-Bluetooth Nokia kit. Your 01 LS may be different but a good place to install the speaker in my 00 LS was on a hard surface on the firewall just to the right of the fuse box in the driver side footwell - I used double sided velcro-like "project tape" from Radio shack to attach the speaker to the firewall.

IMHO an important part of an install is hooking the kit to the audio system so that the audio system is automatically muted when a call is received or placed.
