Default Installing OEM Navi on a non navi gs4?

How much and how hard would it be to get the stock navi on a GS4 that doesn't already have one? I really like the way it looks in the car vs. an after market in dash TV.

A quick search would show you that it has been done (not simple but done):

But don't knock the aftermarket because it can be made to look OEM:

Thanks for the info, I know I should have did the search prior to posting, but I in fact did and found the post from BananaGS, The one in the pix seems like it can't control the ac I assume that's all aftermarket?

There are 3 pics of 3 different installs. DaveGS4's site seems to be down at the moment so the middle pic is not showing up. Whay can't you control the A/C? Look below the screen.

Sorry should have worded it differently. I mean control the AC with the touch screen navi.

OK. Gotcha. You'll need OEM for that since it would not be easy for an aftermarket unit to be readily compatible with all car manufacturer's peripheral electronics.

agree, if you want all the ac control, etc... it's going to be a lot harder with aftermarket

Well I don't have the GS yet but should have it by this weekend/early next week. Until I have it then I'll know which route I want. @ the moment I already have the following setup but not sure if I want it in this vehicle or if I want to go with brand new setup.

Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD
AVM-p8000
Pioneer DSP DEQ9200
Orion 8004
Punch bd1000
2x 12 Eclipse Alum SVC
also have 1 exact sub DVC so I can do single 12's when desire, still deciding if I want to go 2x or just 1x

I left all of my previous components in the other vehicle sounds like it's gonna be quite a bit of work to get 6.5 in the front so I gotta pick up new components sets for the fronts

Or my other route is get rid of the Pioneer LCD and for about the same amount of money maybe less. 850 give and take according to banana's site I can have OEM navi. Probably easier to go with the setup I already have but the stock look is way too cool especiall with the display of the AC/Heat on it.

I have not been to BananaGS's site for awhile but is that just for the unit (if you can find it at junkyards, ...)? To get it new is a lot more, plus all the wiring harnesses, ... For a comparison, BananaGS sold a backup system he had plug and play (since he did all the necessary work) for a few thousand (2k-3k I forget). I'm just giving fair warning that your time (if you are doing the install) will offset the cost some but it will probably cost more than $850.

Yah I would imagine it would be over 1k to do this. There are a lot of junk yards here in CA where I can probably locate piece and bits slowly. I hope. lolz
