Default es300 stereo question

wife wants the ability to listen to cd's in our es300.. the previous owner left some type of wired remote for a pioneer unit... Is it possible to hook up a cd changer to the stock system? whats the most cost effective solution?

Does the head unit in the dash have a button labeled "CD CMP"? If so, you should be able to use a factory changer. If you have a car not originally equipped with the trunk changer, I don't think you have the necessary pre-wiring. You could go aftermarket (with a faceplate adapter/wiring harness) or try to find a CD-ready headunit/wiring harness/trunk changer from a salvage vehicle equipped with the factory CD changer and switch everything out.

I believe her car has an amp somewhere and aftermarket units are not compatable.. will i need an an amp to power the speakers with an aftermarket head unit?
