Default I need a straight answer for the JL 10IB4 sub

Mods... i understand this belongs to the audio section.... but it's SC specific... i apologize for any inconvenience...

after doing plenty of searching... i cannot get a straight answer for the JL 10IB4 sub... DO i or DO I NOT need a 3/4" spacer?

half say that it drops right in as long as you use the stock mounts from the old sub (basically destroying the stock sub) and others are saying that you need to make a 3/4" spacer out of MDF...

so whats the bottom line? who has one and what did you do?

thanks
tommy

What's the mounting depth on that sub? I think you have about 6" of space to work with before it hits the gas tank or something like that...anyone measure how much space there is to work with?
