Question Factory head unit w/aftermarket amp and subs

I have a 95 SC400 and i have the factory nak head unit with an aftermarket amp(4ch, 900watt) which took the place of the burn out factory amp. I also have one 12in alpine type r sub powered by a 2ch 900watt amp. I feel as though the system pulls too much power from the car making my interior and headlights flicker when the bass thumps. What i wanted to know is will adding a capacitor ease the load and get rid of some of the flickering?

A cap will probably help a little bit, but if it were me I would replace the battery with an Optima and look at upgrading the alternator. this would probably cost about 350 or so depending on the alternator. Caps are more of a temporary power storage, a band-aid solution.

Did the sound quality improve with a new amp? Or did you replace the stock speakers and head unit as well? Just wondering if its worth installing an aftermarket amp if my stock one is still in working order
