Lightbulb is300 install

So I went to a shop today and they quoted me a ridiculous price. I know a decent amount about car audio so I am thinking of doing my own install. I already have all my equipment; all I need is the knowledge.

I would be willing to take pictures and make a tutorial of how to do an install on a is300 if I can get some of you experts to help me along.

First thing first, the pesky factory amp. Disable it, or integrate it into the new system? I am thinking bypass and using the head unit’s power for the speakers. Please provide more detail on how to by-pass, where it’s located and this type of general information. Also, I believe the factory speakers in the rear are acutally two speakers stacked on top of each other. How do you go about dealing with this if you power the speakers with the new deck?

Second the mounting kit, which seem to be the best and most used for the is300 crowd? Does the kit match well with the factory black plastic? This is my first round of questions, if they get answered and I feel confident I can do the install, my next post will include pics of all the hardware and pre-install pictures.
