Stock sub upgrade DONE!
Hi, I've been searched around this audio section. Finally, I swapped my stock sub out to a better one. Altho, I couldn't find the JL IB4, but instead, I used kicker c10 and powered by MTX amp.
The bass is WAY better than stock. Now I can enjoy listening to the hip pop radio station.
The total cost for this upgrade is not very expensive and within my budget.
Thanks to Darius2004 for his recommendation and info.
The installation is done by a shop in Bay Area.
Got some pics to share.

Very cool Ray. I like the way they used sealant to ensure you get the best performance out of your sub! Glad to see you went withthe MTX 5 channel!!!
Check your PM.

Currently, the amp is only powering the sub. As Darius suggested to me, this amp has the potential for future speakers upgrade. And yes, I'm still using my stock head unit.
The sub itself is 10". The shop did all installation, so I don't know if they cut anything. I can tell they drilled new holes for the sub.

looks nice and clean.......did the factory cover fit back on top of the kicker or not?? I'm looking at this option in my ES, but Bass is very important too me....How much better than stock is it? Like a huge, noticeable difference or what? How's the bass from the outside of the car, can you tell its not stock anymore?

The factory cover is still there. Everything look like stock.
For me, there's a big different between the stock and kicker one. It's good enough for me. I listen R&B, hip pop music and this upgrde serves well with my kind of music.
Since bass is very important to you, are you plan to put a box in your trunk?

Throughout the whole process, Darius is the man who helps me with all the questions.
The whole upgrade costs me less than $500 (parts + installation included). If you can DIY, it will be even cheaper.

The box is already built, however the free-air idea definately has it's merits as you don't lose any of your trunk space which would be very nice! I was ultimately interested in the sound off a stock deck......everybody tells you that for the best sound you need to chnage it, which is true.....but I've also been told that I won't be satisfied if I simply add aftermarket subs to the stock setup, however I am quite satisfied with the stock setup, exlcuding the sub....so I think I'll have to hook some subs up and see how I feel. I really don't want to get into decks and stuff as I really want one of the Eclipse AVN units, which cost far too much money.
