Anything you do will have to be custom-made. I'm in the same boat as you so I'm looking for a good plastics person to make my filler. Also keep in mind that there is no harness that will DIRECTLY connect your aftermarket HU. I have heard of some Toyota harness for 87+ models that worked for someone on here, but I'll have to double check.

hey 20's wassup man...I installed a Kennwwod Z919 unit in my dash and I plan to fill the hole with plexi glass. Your "200" watt head unit will only do about 20 watts RMS per channel...It may say 50 or 60X4 but that is max and almost never seen. Let me know what kind of deck your running. And yes it is safe to run after bypassing the amps. As for plug and play..not happening!!!! Wire it up yourself. It is easy. All you really need to find is the Ground wire, ACC ignition, Positive and antenna...Pm me if you got specific questions!

I plan on running the new JVC KD-SHX900. I checked around today and to custom make a piece its like 150-300 and the guy at hifi buys didn't even make it clear if that was for labor and installation of the HU either. But i was also told that i should just buy a stronger 4ch amp to replace the stock one that way i could just plug the amp and all that into the headunit and use 2 channels for my speakers and the other 2 for my sub. What do you guys think? Should i fork out the money or keep trying to find someone who can do it for really cheap?

If I were you I would buy a 4 channel amp! Make sure it has a channel for a subwoofer. The stock one just isnt powerful enough. Whatever amp you buy, make sure it is a good one with clean power. Also, a step that might help you cut down the cost of the filler peice is to go into a shop and say "I have 100-150 to spend and this is what I need done! Can yuo do it?" when the shop sees that you are serious and have cash, they normally will do the service!
