You can use the line out of the sound card on your carputer to connect either to an FM modulator or an AUX input (if your HU has one) for sound.

If you are going without a HU, then you'll need to connect the line out of the sound card into an amp to power your speakers and sub.

Either way, you're going to need a sound card. Get a good one like the SoundBlaster Audigy 2. It makes a difference.

I'm also in the process of installing a carputer. I'm keeping my HU which is a Kenwood DPX-4010 and has a AUX input for my sound input from the carputer. I opted for the Lilliput 7" touchscreen monitor instead of the Xenarc because of the cost difference.

Good luck with your system.

I see im not the only one thats thought of this. But one problem some one you havent realized. a harddrive can not be in extremly hight tempuratures and low temprutres due to condensation.

SOooooooooooooooooo this mean you either have to figure out some insane air ventialtion/ heating system

Of just have to remove it when it gets really hot or really cold.

Thumbs up

do you guys know where i can get a lay out plan on how to the pc system into a aftermarket headunit. i read the stuff on carmp3.com but still dont click to clearly yet. be even nicer if someone actually have a full set Schematic of a real pc car. and not top of their head basic pc hook up/ power converting to 12V auto use. that will be great help.

thanks
