Default Replacing the old 12 disk CD Changer to 99 CD Changer

Hey,
My Nak 12 disk CD changer is not working at all and hasnt since I got the car. I get no errors and almost no responses on the head unit. When I put the cartridge with disks into the changer I hear it functioning and it sounds right but I dont know more than that.
Sometimes if i skip through the CDs when I get to CD number 8, it says "ERR"...
I have a 99 CD Changer from a 99 SC300, which is only 6 disk.
WIll that 6 disk changer fit in my 95 SC400? will I need new wiring or wiring harnesses?
WIll it physically fit in my car or will I need to do modifications?
Any help and info would be great!!!
Thanks!!

sure it would fit on top of the ampin vertical mount but the first generation head unit but wont communicate with 2nd generation cd changer. the 99 sc radio looks like the first generation radio but it has a 2nd generation 98 ls400 radio inside of it and has 98 ls400 15 pin cd changer plugs in the trunk. so your 92 to 98 10 and 6 pin cd changer sc harness wont plug in ., . the reason it wont communicate is the older changers had 3 serial communication lines the 98 only 2. all other cd changers in the world only have 1 communication line. so it isnt a matter of just hooking up the wires . this is also why no aftermarket cd changers have been made to work successfully with any lexus

there are no parts left from panasonic to fix the 12 discs. they desgned that changer in 1989 . i recommend 1995 96 es300 6 disc. it has the correct pluygs and 3 line serial communiction so will work with 92 to 98 sc.

Thanks!

If I get the 95-96 ES 6 disk changer do I need to get new harnessess etc or can I just remove my 12 disk, and just put the 6 disk in and plug it in?
Any cutting of wires etc?
Any additional info would be helpful!
Thanks!

the es300 cd changer is plug in and play same wiring harness nothing to splice. . the sc radio p6800 series or n104 series nak radios with the cd button recognizes ithew es300 changer. ...........................................................................................................................by the way 92 to 94 sc owners with radios without cd buttons (cassette flap door id# p1600 and p1606)can easily switch to cd button system. just like toyota soarer owners the radios with the 4 channel amps internal to the radio can be replaced with the cd button radios and extenal pioneer amp. the plugs from the back of the radio plug into the output ports of the ampso no wires to splice. no need to install a wiring harness for the speakers to the trunk like the factory cd button radio . all that is needed is a plug in and play cd changer cable harness which i have avaialble. email me at egusman@woh.rr.com for more info.
