Hi all:
I remember someone on here running a wire from the antenna at the rear to a new, bought antenna near the front windshield. He did this in order to be able to have metallic tinting and not have the signal be blocked at times.
I just got off the phone with Lexus HQ, and after waiting for 6 minutes while someone researched their literature, I was told that the antenna was in fact underneath the rear deck lid, right in the dead center next to the glass.
Has anyone verified this????
I want to have my windows done this weekend and would prefer the metallic tint versus non b/c it does not fade as quickly, but at the same time I do not want to lose my NAV signal.
Has anyone else tried what ptam (I believe) did with his 2001??? What does everyone recommend on here??? I'm thinking of doing 35% all around...
Thanks for your input!!!

One of the Lexus tech told me, for 2001 GS300, the GPS antenna is under the front dash board towards the front defrost vents. I always thought it located under rear deck (?). As long as you don't tint the window using metal particle based material, you should be OK.

The GPS Antenna for a GS model is in the rear package tray. It's the LS model that has the antenna in the front dash. I guess if you can find an after-market antenna that will be long enough, you should be able run one to the front dash. Just keep it away from the side pillars.
