Here's how I solved the problem of the possibility of the crossover popping out when someone shuts a door too hard or if I hit a bad bump:

Good work. Now that I'm seeing it, just for another suggestion I should have mentioned that I always just use clear silicone to glue something in like your crossovers - holds well enough, and can always be cut out again if necessary.

There are two main types of hot glue: low temp and high temp. They look the same and work the same way, but the glue gun you use them with gets hotter. The high temp glue may take longer to melt, but not a whole lot longer. The low temp glue you can melt with a hair dryer, so it's easier to correct a mistake. Both can be found at hobby and art supply stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, etc.
The low temp glue is good for bonding delicate or heat sensitive material, and the gun for it heats up to 250 F.
The high temp glue is good for bonding metals, plastics, and ceramic, and the gun for it heats up to 350 F.
They make guns for either type of glue, and a dual temp gun that can use both types.
The following link shows some different types of glue guns.
