modifying stock stereo to plug in portable devices
i recently purchased an iPod and wanted to see if any of you had custom modifications done to you stock headunits to plug your protable devices directly into the headunits. is this even possible? i am driving a 2002 is300. thanks for your help.

It's called an FM Modulator and can be found at most electronis stores or on eBay.

If you can take out your stock Head Unit, you can install the FM Modulator.
ntran18: I don't like the Belkin because it broadcasts it's signal. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you were at a stoplight, listening to your favorite pop hit when some chump pulls up next to you with a Belkin and all of a sudden you're listening to the country song being broadcast off his iPod?
It is kinda cool though. Example: You pull up to a light and there's a hot chick in the car next to you. You hear the song she's playing and by guess and check, find the station she's on.
Now you flip your Belkin to that station and play the "Damn you're hot" voice recording off your iPod. =)

Is there a better way to do this? I mean, isn't a ton of quality lost in the FM broadcast? What about those cassette tape adapters? Is the signal transmission any better with those?
