1. How do you go about learning about the basics of customizing car audio/video systems ?
2. Voltages, wires, ground, speakers, removing trim pieces, etc. Where did you guys learned all of this ?
3. What is the difference between an FM transmitter and modulator ?
4. For those of you who have put video into the headrest, how did you learn how to do that ?
Alot of dumb newbie questions !

Go to amazon.com, select the 'books' category, and search for 'car audio'. This will bring up some good sources for information. The Car Stereo Cookbook is a decent source for newbies. The rest comes from experience.
(Frequency) Modulation describes a process done to an audio signal that translates it up (or down) in frequency. A physical device called a 'modulator' is not a high power device, just a signal multiplier. An FM transmitter is typically a high powered physical device that radiates a modulated signal over the air.

1. You can also google "car audio faqs", search here on CL or check out other forums such as sounddomain.com
2. There are a lot of different ways, practical experience and the internet is where I picked up what little I know.
3. enginear provided a good answer
4. Although Ive never done it, Im pretty sure you just cut the headrest, insert a mounting "ring" and then put the tv/wiring in. Its not that easy, but you get the idea.
