I would like to know locations of all the speakers in the GS 300, 2001, along with the OEM size. Then what would you recommend as a replacement for all the speakers in the car far as brand and size. Oh, looking for a high end componet set.

Maybe I can save you some time here. I have a 98 GS400 and I believe the speakers are the same size. Front and back are both 4 inchers, and the stock tweeters up front are 1 inch.

I just recently replaced my front speakers with 6.5 inch Boston Acoustics. I had to build custom boards to do the job. If you do a search for "DIY speaker swap," you should come up with the thread. I have to say that they sound okay, but not as good as I thought they would. At first, I thought they sounded great, but the sound is beginning to wear on me.

 

Dont forget the 10'' sub in the rear deck. Not sure what your goals or budget is, so I will guess you want good sounding stuff, If it were me I would:

Front Speakers 5.25'' or 6.5'' Focal or Dynaudio Components $400-500
Subwoofer 10'' Image Dynamics, JL, really depends on you $150-300
Amplifier(s) for Sub/Speakers Arc Audio, Tru, Alpine $400-600
Wiring $200-300
Install $0-350
TOTAL $1150-2000
