I have a 2005 ES 330 with the nav system (no Mark Levinson upgrade). Is there any way without taking the radio apart to tell what upgrades I can add (ie unused cables).

I want to add a subwoofer & amp, possibly a dvd system (or find a way to plug my personal portable dvd player into the stereo for sound) and the one audio place I went to told me they would have to "take it apart and look to see what was behind the stereo."

I'd rather they didn't tear apart my system just to see what was back there. There's GOT to be some standard specs somewhere.

Adding a amp and sub can be done with low level adaptors. You can also get adaptors to add imputs on factory radios as well. You will have to look around a little but they are out there. Start at soungate and check blitz and pac as well. The car is new enough that the part may not be avalible yet but you wont know until you look. Taking the radio out of the car wont tell you a thing so you may consider a different shop to do buisness with.
