I have a 2005 SC430 and wanted to take advantage of the new bluetooth capabilities of the car. Since I was already with Verizon and wanted to stay with them I decided to try out the Motorola V710. I read a lot bad stuff about this phone, but like I said, I wanted to stay with Verizon so I bought the phone in hopes that some of the rumors about firmware upgrades were true...well no one at Verizon knows anything about it so it doesn't look good.
The only thing this phone will do is link to your Nav System, and allow you to answer a call, however it somehow prohibits your Nav system from ringing, so if you don't notice the Nav screen indicates an incoming call you are likely to miss it.
You cannot down load any numbers to the Nav system from your phone, nor any files to any other blutooth enabled device. Overall it is apparent that Verizon did not intend for this phone to be integrated into a automobile system, or any other computer system. If you must stay with Verizon and the two features I mentioned are suffucient to justify the price $300.00 + then by all means go for it, I however, will be taking the phone back and switching carriers.

i must say, even working for motorola, that the V710 is a piece of crap. motorola designed it in 3 months. to meet an unmeetable deadline set forth by verizon. its not our fault. to design and engineer a quaility unit, we need more than 3 months.
