is amp bad?
Been having a skipping problem with radio, cd, tape. Nak system skips when car is turned off, but when car is on the radio, cd plays fine. Checked the 20 amp fuse under the hood and noticed the fuse wasn't blown but melted worried that the connection were the fuse plugs into is bad. Is their any way to isolate the problem with amp or now fuse plug in on board?

well you actually shouldn't play your system when your car is off, great way to get a dead battery. Also (dont know much about the nak. system) it should have an amp, amps have a major current draw, for small amps like what is in your car it probably has a 35amp draw, not the big of a draw, but a giant draw when your car is off

It does it in mine when the battery starts to get weak. Clean your battery terminals or get a new battery if you really want to play it with your car off, but what edjosh said is right, because of the amp, you really shoulnd't play it while the car is off....too much fluctuation in current flow.

Hey thanks for the replys. I usually don't play the radio when the car is off, but i was just trying to eliminate problems in the system. Currently i've sent the head unit and amp out for service to see if that is the case. The battery is a year old with a new alternator. The car is not a daily vehicle, driven probably once every week, maybe causing the battery to get weak. I'll let you guys know when i get the system back if it is the amp or headunit. Any suggestion on why the fuse under the hood melted instead of blown?
