Can a powerful amp blow factory crossovers?
I am running a Rockford Fosgate 800.4, 2 channels of which will power my front speakers and the other 2 will power the subs.
With a potential of 200 watts RMS going to each corner of the front speakers (stock nakamichi), will I blow the stock factory crossovers?
Also, has anyone here ran aftermarket speaker wire to their speakers? Is it hard to run them? Anyone have a writeup on how to run the speaker wire over to the doors?
Thanks!
Clifford
stock gs3 my only mod is the avic-n1 deck.

Ummm... homey, you arent going to blow the factory crossovers, your going to blow the stock speakers to shreds.
Here's a good analogy, your dropping in a 40000 hp engine with a stock tranny, what do you think is going to happen to the stock tranny?
Seriously, I think the stock speakers are 40 watts max or something of that nature? Your going to shred the speakers to dust with 200 watts rms each!

I agree - 200RMS is deff overkill... I just installed a 35x4 amp to replace the factory amp in my 99 GS400 and i have to be carefull with it as I can easily over power the stock NAK speakers. I would re-think the way you have your amp config. Get a 4 channel amp for the interiors and then a class D mono sub amp. You'll end up with a better system overall.. an effecient Sub amp and a nicely matched interior 4 channel setup.
just my opinion...
