He said to write back to the eBay vendor and tell them the antenna is not working properly, and arrange for a return / refund.

remember that wire you connected... the yellow one? If the antenna is currently in the extended position (ie- "up") then remove the yellow wire from the wire you have it connected to... ok... now touch it to ground and see if the antenna comes down.

means you need to try a different wire back there in that antenna harness. are there other wires open right now from that plug you didn't use?

I'll look when i go home.... There was a harness that plugged into the old stock power antenna, but the new one doesn't have any place for the harness...

Angry ebay power antenna

I spent a week modifying this cheap power antenna to just fit the Lexus fender. After I did get it adapted, I could not find a wire in the original connector to make it go down, too. I didn't want to install a toggle switch-how crappy is that? Someday I might want to sale the car. DO NOT CUT OFF THE CONNECTOR as instructed.
But for $35, the price was right.
Now to the junkyard for a used factory unit.

you don't need a toggle, just a simply relay to go to ground when off. Any DPDT relay will work.

WOW another guy who has the same cars as me! Nice!

BTW don't expect your 540 to be nearly as reliable as your SC. But it sure is fun as hell to drive and look at.
