Rx300 Amp Installed! INFO for install
I figured i should post this since there isn't that much info on the amp install on the rx300. This install was on my 99 rx with factory radio. This was my 6th amp install. I rate it a hard install but all the wires hide perfectly.
1. 4G Power ran. First take a look under you dash on the drivers side. You should see the wires running through the firewall in the top corner. Make a small hole in the rubber around the wires being careful not to damage the wiring. Run the power cable through the hole about 2 foot. Then get out and go to the drivers side wheel well and unscrew all screws on the outer lip (about 4 philops). Bend the plastic cover to the wheel well like you would changing you turn signal lights but keep going upwards till you see your power wire visible. Be careful not too crack the plastic. Grab the wire and you should be able to run it near the headlight and to the battery. Make sure to cover power wire with wire loom for safety. Hook up Fuse holder and Battery but take out fuse.
Now you have to run the wire in the interior to where your amp is going. Mine was under my rear rightside seat only because its a big amp and wouldn't fit anywhere else. Keep in mind the rear seat won't fold down with anything under it. Ok get the power wire which should be hanging through your firewall and run it under the corner panel. You should see wires going under it. First uncrew the big plastic nut off then slide it off. You might have to take off the Dside middle floor panel first. On the middle panel you should be able to pull one (end towards the front) end up easily. Now with both hands and pull up on the inner part with your finger tips. Should pop up easily. Go along the whole piece popping them all. Then slide the whole piece towards the front(hard). Then that piece should be released and move it out the way. You can run the wires next to the already ran group of wires. 4 gauge barely fits. The Tall middle panel that holds you seatbelt needs to be Loosened to run the wires through. Just pull towards the interior to pop up. (hard) Make sure seat belt bracket not blocking it. If it is just turn it sideways . Then run wires through it and then remove the rear floor panel . Which is similar to the front. Pop up on inner lip then slde towards front(hard). Run the wire then route it under the seat. I put some extra wireloom under the seat just incase the wire might get pinched while moving the seats. Power wire Done.
2.Turn on . Just use the power antenna turn on for the supply. Go to cargo area and remove the panels on the pas. side till you get to the antenna. Mostly clips. Antenna should have about 6 wires covered in plastic. Cut into plastic so you can see the wires. Be carefull not to cut any wires. Splice into the black with red stripe wire. Run it underneath the panels, then under the rear seat.
Turn on done.
3. Input Signal/Rca . You can buy an adapter to switch over to rcas. But if you amp has speaker wire inputs its not necessary. First remove the sub under the pass. seat . Put seat forward all the way. Should see two bolts in back 10 mm. Unbolt them then go to the front of the seat and you should see two more bolts in front gold colored. Remove them . Unplug the harness and the sub should be moveable. Then unbolt the two big bolts holding the seat down. Tilt up the seat and the sub should slide out. (hard).
Cut the old harness off and run wires under the pass side panels to amp. Panels similar to Dside. Leave panels open.
Signal Input Done
4. Ground Wire. I just used the bolt and hole from the factory sub under the pas seat. Bolt under the carpet and run along panel then to amp. Ground Wire done.
Put all covers back on. Hook up wires double check everyhing. With car off add the fuse and you should have some good bass .
Ok i think thats it. Hope this helps. If i missed anyhing please post message.

RX300 Installation
That was some great help. Ive been wanting to replace my subwoofer under my PAX seat seat since I bought my 2001RX. I may just end up buying one of the new Clarion SRV303 powered subs. Thanks for the info.
