who makes the Lexus nav system? (or which aftermarket nav system is most similar?)

I love the DVD navigation system in my Lexus. Before my current Lexus, I've never owned a Lexus, or any
other Japanese-brand car, at all. Yet I was able to start using the Lexus nav system in only a minute of taking delivery of the vehicle, WITHOUT reading any manuals!![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Unfortunately, my other car, a Mercedes, does not come with a nav system. I've been trying to
add an aftermarkt nav system to it without any success. I've tried the Alpine, the Pioneer(AVIC-N1),
Kenwood, and Eclipse. None came even close to ease of use as my Lexus nav system. I've also
looked at the Magellan Roadmate 700 and the Garmin 2620.(both are preloaded with maps of the
entire continental US), but they're also not that easy to use, plus the screens are somewhat small.
Does anybody have any other suggestion? I've actually been searching Ebay to see if there are any
used Lexus DVD nav systems for auction. Haven't found one yet...

Correction: I do know that Denso makes the navigation system in Lexus cars/SUVs.
In addition, Denso also makes the nav system for these:
Lexus - GS 430, LS 430, SC 430, LX 470, GS 300, RX 300, ES 300, IS 300, GX 470;
Toyota - Camry, Landcruiser, Prius, Avalon, Siena;
Jaguar - S Type, X Type, XJ Type, and
Cadillac - Deville and Seville.
The problem is that Denso doesn't make an aftermarket system... not really sure...
will email them and see what happens.

Fujitsu (Denso) owns and makes the aftermarket nav for Eclipse. The software in my new Eclipse nav is the same as the new LS430. It doesn't have the voice recognition that the OEM does, nor the integrated controls for AC & trip computer

Alpine make it for the UK SC430, guess it may be the same for other models & countries. There are only a few companies who do the mapping in the UK, Tele atlas and Navtech so all the companies buy the info from them and adapt it to the system. Dont know if everywhere is the same.
