Left side of system has no sound

Left side of system has no sound
Just found this site, and full of great info.
My 93 Ls400 has a Nakamichi system and about 6 mos ago the whole left side has no sound including the sub. If I turn the balance all the to the left and crank the volume a dimmer of sound comes out. I don't use the phone anymore so I'm not concerned with that and if I hit the steering control for the phone it shuts the remaing right side down like it's supposed too.
I don't know if this means anything but, the seat memory stopped working around the same time. Has this happened to anyone else or have a fix, I really miss the full sound.

the good ole electrical ghosts of the Lexus. for the seat memory, check and see if the connection came loose first. Does the seat not move at all or does the memory function just not work?
About the radio, your speakers are probably crapped out. If you get some sound out of them but hardly any, I would assume that they are junk.

My 90 LS just did the same thing.
The sound is really muted but also distorted. Sub works but also sounds odd.
Speakers would be a good bet, cause the surrounds are probably shot.
However, the chances the all the speakers on the left side died at exactly the same time and the right ones started to sound odd at the same time is remote. IMHO.
I wonder what another possibility could be. Amp pretty much dead?
