Some JL 10IB4s
Hey Fellas,
Not sure if you've seen, but there are 2 pairs of JL 10IB4s for sale on eBay.
PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THEM YET!!!
These subs are very rare and I know there a 3 other SC owners out there who would love to get their hands on one of these.
I'm looking for 3 people who are interested in picking these up.
If we start bidding, I promise the prices will go well above the "Buy it Now" so what I suggect is 2 people (I can be one of them) use the buy it now and upon receiving, sell the unused sub to another CL member.
I'm not sure if this breaks any forum Group Buy rules, but if it does please let me know so I can change my wording.
Cheers,
~Alan

I would be in on the deal!! One concern though.....These IB4's are 8ohm speakers. Isn't the Nak 10 a 4 ohm speaker? Wouldn't you need 2 8ohm speakers run in parallel to reduce ohm load to 4 to match output of amp? I am probably way off here but something is setting off a bell in the back of my head.

There's a bell in the back of your head?
Upping the impedance will not harm your stock amplifier but it will reduce the RMS by about half.
I would definitely reccommend running a separate amp for the 10IB4.
I have the JL 250/1 and it's rated at 250 Watts RMS with 1.5-4 Ohm load so with 8 Ohm I would expect about 125 Wats RMS which is good because the sub is rated at 100 Watts RMS.
Hope I didn't lose you.
Cheers,

Nope, didn't lose me....still here..
Yes, the bell makes it very hard pulling on shirts in the morning
I get it know with regards to the amp. The Nak just wont have enough power for the 8 ohm load. I think I would still be interested in doing the JL deal if anyone else is.
Alan, side note, I have never owned JL speakers (although I hear nothing but rave reviews for them). Would the performance be a drastic improvement over the stock Nak free-air?

This sub is considered one of the best free-air subs ever made, BUT if you just drop it in and hook up the wires, I doubt you'll hear an improvement, and maybe you'll even lose a few dB.
I highly reccomend running an aftermarket amplifier to this sub. JL 250/1 would work perfectly.
If you think this job is difficult, do not be afraid; I have installed this amp myself in uder 2 hours where it's completely out of view yet is still accessible.
Getting a signal is as simple as cutting and crimping.

You can see how that's a decent deal.

Sounds good!! I'm definately not afraid of the install job and (based on your advise) would use an aftermarket amp. I also think my Nak amp just went anyway!! I may choose to go with a multi-channel amp though since my Nak appears fried and I'll need to power the whole system now.

So:
1) mkorsu
2) mikeloc24
3) PHML?
I'm leaning towards being a secondary because I don't want to deal with shipping (Just cause I post frequently here, doesn't mean I have a lot of free time on my hands )
So basically whichever one of you has $250 on hand, order up a pair and then let one of us know you'll be having an extra sub.
Cheers,
~Alan

"Do you have 4 10ib4s?
Reason I'm asking is because you listed 2x pair.
Why are you selling them?"
Yes I do. I am cleaning out my inventory. Thanks Doug
============================================
I'm sure he know what he's selling and that it will go for more than what he's asking.
Smartest thing to do is use Buy It Now because I'm sure his Reserve is set higher than Buy It Now.
Cheers,
~Alan
