What type of a data bus does the CD changer interface in an 1st gen LS use? I want to get a 1st gen CD changer enabled radio and hack into the inputs and use it as an iPod or XM input.

I'm looking for the same info for my 93 SC300. I want to replace the changer with any 12 CD changer that I can hack into the existing harness, but I dont know what the stock head unit's data protocol is.

only a chip in the circuit board can be hacked not the wiring. the replacement changer ipod etc would have to have a protocal changING CHIP. . the only company that has done it is vaistech.com and very expensive. lexus had pioneer make 3 data commmunicaTION LINES. BLITZSAFE PROTOCAL COMPANY MADE A WHOLE LINE OF 2ND GENERATIOIN ADAPTERS AND NONE OF THEM WORKED. SO THEY GAVE UP . SOME PEOPLE HAVE JUST TAPPED THE LINES BUT THE PERIPHERAL ISNT RECOGNIZED BY THE RADIO ONLY PLAYING THROUGH THE LINES.WITH LOW FIDELITY .
