This may or may not have been posted, but on the off chance you lock your keys in the car, you can open your car by using a cell phone and having the person on the other end (assuming they have your spare key!) hit the unlock button next to the their phone while you stand next to the car...PRESTO! just did it on my friends es300 and it was pretty cool! car opened right up!

After reading this post I just had to test it out for myself. My attempt with my 98 ES300, however, was unsuccessful. I dont know if I did something wrong; I might have to try it again just to make sure. Anybody else have success/failure with this quirk?

That sounds kind of impossible since the key remote uses RF signals to transmit its code to the receiver on the car.

Bsht, BSHT!! sorry, i tried it at home on my wifes car (rx330) - drove a block away - didn't work...i didnt think it would...i think we were standing too close when we did the original test ...maybe one of those urban legends! Sorry for the load of crap! APRIL FOOLS!!! on me!

the incredible thing is, the range on my buddys remote is like 3 blocks! we took his es WAY down the street and we were able to trigger it intermittently. kinda funny how some cars have a REALLY good range and others you gotta be right up in there...ok, no more responding to my own post - very tacky...nobody else respond either...
