Default Running new speakers

I'm getting ready to install a carpc into my 2001 Gs300 and jus had a few questions about the speakers. When you replaced the speakers, did you run all new wiring or did you just use the stock wiring. I plan on adding a new amp to run my new speakers and was wondering if the stock wire guage was enough for 80 watts. Also, could i just bypass the stock amp and tap into the wires coming into the stock amp and extend them to my new amp? If so, does anyone have the color codes for the Gs300? I did a search and found this...

FRONT
driver's side -- pink(+), violet (-)
passenger's side -- green (+), blue (-)

BACK
driver's side -- black (+), yellow (-)
passenger's side -- red (+), white (-)

but wasnt sure if it was for the GS or not. ..isnt black usually used for ground?

You can use the OEM speaker wiring however running new wire from the aftermarket amp to each speaker is the way too go. It's a lot more work that way but I think that's the professional way of doing it and is why I did it that way.

Some people just cut the speaker wires near the OEM amp and run their wires back to their new amp in the trunk.

yeah, if your gonna do something. do it right the first time its very worth it. run new speaker wires. its one of the main factors in a good sounding system. its not going to sound good or be clean if your going to be extending the stock wiring.
