I am sooo hoping I can get some help on this. I have a '95 ls400 with the Nakamishi. The right side speakers are crackly most of the time. sometimes for a30 minutes or so, they will come back in and the sound is terrific. the rest of the time it is crap and driving me crazy. I have wiggled wires, looked at the amp under the seat, checked the plugs, beat on it a little to no effect. the sound simply comes and goes on it's own... no bump, or anything, but doesn't stick around. It has gotten progressively worse. A year ago I took the headset out and had it looked at at an audio place and they said that the outputs were perfect. Sooo, if not the headset, any ideas where to look?

You also need to have your amp checked. For GS, Nakamichi amp is in trunk under floor, may be similar on LS?
The fact that your problem is intermittent makes it difficult to diagnose and fix for any repair shop.
