6x9 in front doors + amp hookup from factory headunit
i just finished installing 6x9 in my front doors because the front speakers were dead by appearance. ripped and torn. the new setup looks like its gonna kick. unfortunately i still havent gotten my system going and i have this car for about 3 weeks already.
so i've been studying the nak diagrams that i found thanks to this forum. if i have time, tomorrow i will be cutting up the factory harnesses from the trunk. i am going to attempt to connect the line output converter to the front L and R outputs (+) (2 wires) and both negatives to the signal ground; all from the trunk amp plugs. then i will connect the remote and speakers also from the plugs in the trunk. i won't touch the headunit. i hope that this will work and i will post to let you know. later.

finally...
last night i finished routing the power cable throught to the trunk. then i connected the line output converter to the positive speaker wires and both to one signal ground. the loc is in the trunk. then i wired the speakers to the amp from the harness that was supposed to connect to the nak amp. so now finally i have music! the downside is that its not that good quality which could be due to the speakers or possibly the rca connection? also i can only work one pair of speakers. i think i will need to get another loc and rcas to make the whole system work. but im not sure. does anyone know an easier way to do this?

i used the factory enclosures. first i took them out of the door. then i unscrewed it into two pieces. on a 92 sc400 the back part of the enclosure does not have mounts so i had to cut them off of the front piece and screw them on. when i take apart my doors again i will take a pic.

SexCoupe4, what did you do to keep intack the signal to the door tweeter? Ditching that upper part of the two piece factory enclosure loses the signal to the door tweeter. Maintaining that signal took some extra work to transplant it from my gutted factory enclosure into the new MDF mounting that I fabricated.
Now the real question, how much of the sound of my 6 1/2" or SexCoupe4's 6x9" is going to make it out of out tiny four inch door grill that we're pretty much stuck with. Don't know that yet, not finished. I'll post a picture of the raw opening if I can find my digital before I wrap it up. It's has capacity to hold that 6x9 for sure, but you're going to fab.

i cut out the wires that connect the speakers and the tweeters from the plastic and used them. everything works and sounds great and LOUD even with my amp gain at a very low level.
my question: is there a way for the amp to output to all four speakers with one set of rcas? i used one line output converter and one rca cable. there are 2 inputs for rcas on my 4 channel amp. so when i plug in the rcas to either input i have either front or rear speakers working. maybe i can wire in all of the speaker outputs from the headunit to the one converter. anybody have any tips or suggestions or know anything about this? all help appreciated.

4" paper cone made by Pioneer. You have to remove the rear seat and the entire rear shelf to get at them. There is an awesome how to posted elsewhere in this forum.
