Question Uneven sound from left and right speakers?

Okay guys, I been having issues with my stock system where my passenger side would produce more sound (or at a higher level) then the driver side NOTICEABLY, ruining the music sometimes. RARELY, it switches to the driver side instead of the passenger’s, and a couple of times, it was exactly even, resulting in a great music experience. (Didn’t really realize the potential of the stock system until then).

I know what your thinking, but its not song specific, because at those instances, I play a certain CD that I always have in my changer to double check, so what do you think my problem is? Is it connection to the amp, or connections from behind the head unit?

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried a Q-tip?

Well, it sounds quite odd, but since it switches back and forth you can rule out the amp. it is the source, so your head unit.

I have a simialr problem but not exactly like yours so my problem is probably the amp or speaker or connection leading to the drivers speaker. Most of the time lately my drivers speaker plays a lot softer than the passanger side. As soon as I turn the volume **** up past about 1/2 way, the drivers side kicks in to full volume then I can lower the volume back down and it will remain equal for a while. I usually have to do this a couple of times a day.

Hmm... i may just try that.

But now that im really thinking about it, I only remember once when the sound was louder from the drivers side, im starting to question if it was just me, or something.

But I do remember when it was even a few times, and it sounded so damn good.

hello there,
welcome to CL. Are you by any chance using a tape adapter?
