I have a 2003 GX470 and tried to put the new 4.1 DVD in and it says CANNOT READ, did I get the wrong one, or have a bad disc? I put the DVD in my computer and can see all the files, so.....

 

you bought the first edition of tthe 2005 4th genration dvd disc. you need 3rd generation dvd update not a 4th. . the third generatio update says w0.1 at the top. it says data 4.2 at the bottom. part number is 86271-33033. it has 9 green dots at the 2 oclock position. 4.1 is for 4th genration computers and not compatible with the third. not only that the 4.1 data dvd has been recalled by lexus and is defectrive. whoever you bought it from is selling recalled merchandise. ......................................................................................................................................................................it is good you didnt have a 4th generation computer because the 4.1 would have worked and it is off by a few streets in its directions . my business partner with an 05 ls430 was given a voice command to turn down a 1 way street. the wrong way. i would ask for my money back from the seller on the grounds that he sold you a defective disc not on the grounds it didnt work . i am sure the seller said it only worked on 4th generation and it was your resposibility to buy the right one. but it was his responsiblity to not sell you knowingly a defective disc. didnt you wonder how hundreds of 4.1 discs are showing up on the market? they have been replaced for free by lexus and instead of being tossed out like campaign 4lg states . they are making it back to ebay. i regualarly email ebay sellers that they are selling defective 4.1 discs but jthere are just to many of them.
