Upgrading to Nak system question

Hey guys I am looking at upgrading the premium system to a Nak system on my 2000 LS400. Can you guys tell me if this is worth it. I am thinking of changing the following
1. Head Unit (includes climate control)
2. Sub-woofer
3. Amp
4. Speakers (might not be able to get all the Nak speaker, so I might get Infinity, Polk or something across those lines)
Can you guys tell me if this is worth it, as well as how hard is it to change. I did some search on the forum but did not find anything relating to the 98-00 LS model. Is it as simple as changing units out and using the eisting wiring or is it much more difficult than that.
Thanks

Go aftermarket. Wiring harnesses are different in the Nak than they are with the Pioneer. By the time you've dumped the money into a Nak, you would have had a really nice aftermarket system. Aftermarket would sound much better too.

Neo,
Best guess is that the connector for the speakers on both the Pioneer and Nak are the same. You could potentially swap out speakers and if you wanted to, rig the system for entirely Nak. Expensive project.

agc, your climate control is a separate unit and not part of the head unit - I've pulled the whole thing out of the dash more than once. The Pioneer in a co-worker's 99 LS does not sound that much different than the Nak in my 00 LS. The wiring harness connectors are different for the standard and Nak. Same number of pins but a different number of connectors - I found this out when hooking my Nokia phone's car kit to mute the Nak during a call. Sounds like a very expensive project - I think I saw that the retail on a new Nak head unit for the 98-00 was several thousand dollars.

Thanks all,
The reason I though about the conversion is because I can probably pick up the following items for about $500, maybe less
1. Nak Head Unit w/Climate Control
2. Nak Speakers (one side of the car only, I think drivers)
3. Nak Amp
4. Nak Sub
5. Nak CD Changer
