Default Are SC oem stereo's interchangeable?

I am purchasing a 98 Sc400 with aftermarket stereo that does not work. Car has 12 disc changer in it. I do not know if amp is still there but i think it is. Will an older year SC oem unit with cd controls fit in and plug in to oem harness. I also don"t know if car had Nak system or not. please help Alexis...

yes everything the same as the 92 to 94 sc stereos. they went back to pale blue lites in 96. the amp is under the 12 disc changer. the nak has aluminum top fins and takes up the whole bracket. the pioneer amp only takes up half the bracket under the changer. if the aftermarket installer cut off the factory radio plugs would be the biggest headache reattaching them.
