'01 IS300 - Audio Questions
I just purchased an '01 IS300, and soon found out that the front speakers had been removed. Apparently the previous owner had installed his own box/front speakers and decided to take them out when the car was sold. The box is still in the door, and the wires seem to be there as well, but no speaker.
I am looking to replace the speakers and also install a 10' or 12' sub. Any recommendations as to what speakers I should choose and who I should go with to get this done. I have heard horror stories about Lexus vehicles and the audio installation, so I want to make sure that this is done right.
Also, any suggestions on how I could get better reception through my radio? The quality of sound is very poor and the reception not so great through my current, factory system.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

System goals? What are you after - sound quality or ground pounding? Best bet is to do some research and do the install yourself. You'll find out just how well the IS is made, especially when it doesn't tear apart your hands...unlike the GM/Ford/Chrysler junk out there.

I'm after sound quality more than anything else. If I am not as educated on car audio/installation, would you recommend some places? What about Hi-Fi Buys?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
