Default Pioneer avic-d1, the answer for the SC???

Maybe with a .5 din pocket or something, this would be the perfect solution to all of us SC guys looking for a nice aftermarket head unit.

This sure could be the answer but let's wait for the jusry to come back. I have not received these yet so I can't tell you how they look and feel but if they are what they are supposed to be then they sure could be the answer.

You are correct you will need a separate dvd player.

The Pioneer does not sure if the Eclipse does as I don't sell them but you can get around the Pioneer problem

looks sweet! i hope it performs as well as the lexus navi that i've experienced in my friend's ES. i personally think there's no need for a dvd player in my SC--on a 4-door GS maybe, but not an SC. I think i'd upgrade my car security before i would decide to buy something nice like that though.

While looking on Fleabay today I came across some nice Pioneer double din cd/cassette players. Since I still have a 6-disc dvd changer that no one was smart enough to buy I was thinking this. Get the cd/cassette double din, a pair of replacement visors with screens already in them, and use my dvd changer in the location of the stock cd changer. This would give me nice clean sound, mp3, and dvd all for under 500 bucks. I would just need to find something a 1/2 din to fill up that little space under the new unit. Heres a pic of the head unit I was thinking of using.

you could certainly do that but you wouldn't have nearly the same options or clean install. there is no doubt that for the $2,800 eclipse wants for their 5495 you could easily throw together multiple components for less. tires are tires right, why not stereos.

You dont think that would still look clean? I think it would look much more clean than a single din HU install. With single dins they always have the trim ring that makes them out of place. With this unit and other double din its as if the HU is already mounted into a "box" that would sit flush with consoles such as ours. I just thought it was a good buy for the under 200 bucks you can pick it up for online. Does anyone know if this would be a direct plug in to those of us with the stock Pioneer systems cd changer?

I will give you that much although it is cleaner than a lot of the other Pioneer and other brands double dins. I found a double din Alpine last night that I liked but I couldnt find it on their site or on any other for that matter so it kinda steered me away.
