Alpine In Das DVD died
Ok, I have an in dash dvd player, model IVA-D900, for a couple years already. Its been in two of my cars without any problems. Currently, I have it professionally installed in my Lexus SC along with my the Alpine IPOD adapter and it worked perfectly until tonite.
Since I regularly take out the face plate to deter theft, the unit failed to light up tonight when i put the face plate back on as I start up the car.
Everything else seems to work fine. The Ipod shows the Alpine logo on the screen; the head unit responds to open or close screen functions and makes the beeps. However, the screen and the buttons do not light up as usual and does not play when you snap on the face.
What might be wrong. Might the little face plate go bad since I take it off sooo many times? If the unit is defective, hows Alpines policy when it comes to repairing stuff thats out of warranty?
