Question

Can a 1993 LS400 that didn't come fom the factory w/ CD changer be retrofitted with the Lexus changer? I have had people tell me two different things: that the wiring harness for the changer is there, and that it isn't there. Does anyone have the facts?

If the LS originally came with the head unit (radio/amp) that had the controller for the cd changer then the wiring is there. I'm going through the same thing right now with my '90. It came with the no cd changer radio, Louie from this bbs sold me his old factory radio with the cd changer contoller and a cd changer(thanks lou). I spoke with the local lexus dealership they said there is a different wiring harness for cd changer equipt LS's cost for retrofit parts $1500. Spoke with local install wizard he says he will try to fabricate something. I will keep you posted.
