just need to paint it again (lots of scratches)... to lazy to sand stuff down again... gonna leave it as is and sell the damn car in 3 years.
yeah... the screen is kinda small... but i like it... the only one that could fit in the console (electronics behind it)... its a partsexpress 4" screen... quality is mediocre... colors sometimes look washed out.... especially when playing video games... looks good when playing dvds though...
kinda ghetto if you ask me... there are some pock marks... but whatever... its my first custom job!
Oh yeah... Bondo body filler SUCKS!!! use the bondo resin/hardener... you get a much smoother finish and it is easier to work with than filler/clay especially since you can use a paint brush....
comments appreciated on how to better work with resin...
my goal was to look stock... was i sucessful?

do a search for carputer...
you can fit a 7" screen there and keep it looking stock...the 4" screen just looks
Good job by trying it yourself though, I'm sure you'll like the features that a carputer will give you...
mp3's, music videos, movies, navigation, video games, backup camera...I managed to fit all my stuff behind the radio area...VERY TIGHT FIT!!
check out www.mp3car.com to get your research going...

Sorry but you failed. It looks like poo. And 4"??? You coulda duct taped a psp and it would have been better. The filling of the cupholder looks good though!! Whats that little hole in it for? Whats providing the image for the screen?

The "squareness" of the hole looks hideous. You need to learn how to use a flat file, which I assume you didn't use. The screen is WAY too small to look stock at all. Honestly, I take it out and throw it in the ocean. Go to your local bookstore or go online and get some books on auto-body/custom-stereos, and READ them. Then take another shot at it. If it doesn't look at least a million times better, throw that surround in the ocean and either pay someone to do it or put the stock unit back in. Seriously. That's super embarassing looking. You have no idea how much fun you will be made of for that hood-rich looking setup.
Good luck and take your time.

Just look at what your goal really is, a usable LCD? Because if you do they have some real nice touch screen ones that will fit in that area and you can just sell that 4" one on eBay when you get enough money.
I don't know why everybodys doggin on you man...I think its good you tried to do something and make it different.
BTW, if everything was grey it would definatly look more stock.

Just kiddin with the touchscreen. But if you are on a budget, I know mp3car.com has a Lilliput 7" for under 300 bucks and has touchscreen capabilities. That 7" should also cover up most of the area, alleviating unecessary bondo work.
