Will 6 1/4" speakers fit in rear deck??

Will larger speakers fit in rear deck of an SC without modifications or little mods? I would like to put something larger that the stock 4".

Yes, but you will need to build a riser plate. I replaced mine with 6 1/2" MB Quart. (There are no 6 1/4" speakers that I know of). I was initially going to open up the rear deck lid opening to fit the 6.5", but the sheet metal has too many "non-flat" areas. It was much easier to build a riser from 1/2" MDF and mount the speaker to that, then mount riser to decklid. I sealed everything with garage door weatherstriping. You will also have to widen the stock opening slightly to allow for the larger cage to fit.

But I do need to get back to the sub and fix some rattling. When I do (hopefully within the next week or 2) I'll snap some shots of the 6.5's so you can see.
