Serial Communication TXM/TXS
can any one give information or point to a resource regarding the protocol of TXM/TXS? I am interested in learning how the head unit talks ot the CD changer.

the communication system is the avc-lan which is short for audio visual control language. its what all the manufactureres are doing to try to make it difficult for the owner to change some audio visual parts to aftermarket units. the system is set up in loops where each unit communicates to the next unit. if one of the loops is not conncted to the system the rest wont work. in lexus case the system worked so well an aftermarket changer to work on first genration cars was never accomplished. blitzsafe tried and failed to make a 100.00 adapter that worked well. now there are companies making compatibility boxes to hook up after market units and finally work faily well but are in the 300.00 to 600.00 range and thats not for the equipment just the box. so its better to stick with lexus brand audio visual units for the best picture and sound control.
