Default Pioneer AVIC-D1 Installed **Lots of Pictures** (56k=no good) PLEASE VOTE!

This is my Pioneer D1 unit installed my 02 300 Sport Design
It was installed by Jeff (Lexis11) and his crew from his shop in MA

My components include:
Pioneer Avic-D1
Directed Video DVD Player
Savv Reverse Backup Cam
XM NavTraffic Unit
2 Kicker 10" Solo Barics
Rockford Fosgate Amp

Took these pics today inside my car. As you can see the Sport Design comes with the Brushed Aluminum color dash and the Black Walnut wood trim all around (this is the real stuff, not a 3m adhesive add-on). I can't say enough about the unit. Very simple to use, XM NavTraffic is sick, video quality is awesome, my speakers now sound so much better, easy to use nav, can also use every function now while driving with the bypass completed.

I am still up in the air if I should paint the kti around the D1 to match the Climate Control aluminum color, so it all matches. I think it would look nice, but I can't find the color out from anyone. It looks like a matte aluminum color, but that doesnt really help. Should I match it?

Didn't take any pics of the trunk since it looks like **** right now, since there is no customization yet in there. Just the box and amp.

There is also a video at the bottom of a music video playing. I just burned 50 music videos on a DVD and made some fancy moving menus and whatnot. Cool to have when you are driving around with people. Just a novelty I guess. The only problem right now is if you want to use any functions of the DVD player, you have to opent the glove box and point the remote at it, then close the glove box. I'm working on getting an infrared eye right now to solve that problem.

All in all, if you are considering nav, I have to say go with this unit. I couldn't be happier.
And if you are anywhere near MASS, go see Jeff and let him take care of everything you need. They are good guys..

And now the pics, and video at bottom.............

Here is a video of a 50 Cent Music Video that I played on the unit from the DVD player in the glove box.. It was taken with my Sony P200 Digital Camera, so ignore the audio quality. When the link pops up, you scroll down, click on FREE and then the download link will load in 20 seconds.

Looks great!

I have a few questions however...

I thought the d1 had a dvd player, why would you need another dvd player?

Which fosgate amp are you using to power the subs and speakers? What is the rating and how many channels?

thanks

Great install. It looks really good. Thanks for the pics showing the backup camera on screen. I know you were talking about the tunnel vision but honestly it isnt bad. Is it the same when the camera goes full screen? Also could you post pics of the camera mounted in the keyhole?

I have no clue what my amp is......maybe 250w.
I got this subs custom boxed and the amp from a family friend 5 years ago. It was literally NEVER used. Intended to get it put it, then never touched it for 5 years. I still have the receipt and it says $1300 on it.
Put it this way, I keep the bass on -3 (negative 3) on the settings on my D1......so it more than does the job.

I wanna sell these on EBAY......Already have friends offering me money for these. I've officially sold one so far for $50........I think they would get about $30 on EBAY.....don't know if it is legal though.

It takes a few days to make one of these though. Between downloading, and then encoding each video individually, and then building the animated video.......not easy by any means.

Well worth it in the end.
