Default Can the IS300 fit in a 93 GS

Hey I was just wondering if the head unit from the IS300 stereo would fit in a 93 GS300? If so, can i just plug it in to the corresponding plugs? If i cant do this, can you guys recommend a good head unit with an LCD screen for under 600?

no you cant just plug it in. even if you spliced it in and dremeled the sides also you would have to change amps as the is300 digitas amp and yours analog. best sound with perfect factory looks would be to upgrade to 1993 gs300 nakamichi lexus stereo. it is only system of all the lexus models that you can just plug in the nakamichi parts into your current wiring harness and connectors. the door speakers would be fine but you have to change the headunit, the amp and sub to nakamichi components and that can be done for less than 600.00 and would increse the value of the car ar resel time.instead of decrese it like aftermarket systems do..

possibly your amp or paper door speaker cones are defective if its not sounding good. to get an afdtermarket system to sound better than the one you have would take replacing all the speaklers and a new amp in addition to a new head unit. i dont think 600.00 would be enough to accomplish that and have more clarity than the nak. system if you want more subwoofer than you can just add one in addition to your 12 inch nak sub. i am an lexus oem audio person and not the one who could direct you to aftermarket choices. i do have nakamichi updated door speakers that have a pointable tweeter in the middle. perhaps that would bring the nak sound clarity that the amp is capable of back to life.

No no, everything sounds fine in it. It's all the way it should be. But I just wanted to upgrade the stock head unit to something else.

What options are you looking for that your current stereo doesn't have?
