Hi,

I have a Lexus ES300 1999 model and I am looking to put a used OEM ES300 navigation in it. Wondering if anyone have ideas where I can get my hands on a unit like this?

Most people don't do oem nav retrofit on non-nav cars b/c they're too expensive and too much hassles.

Most people just get the all-in-one double din units like the pioneer avic d1 or the eclipse avx 5424, 5435, 5495, and others. Eclipse is the manufacture for the Lexus nav btw.

factory navigation primer for those wanting to retorofit a lexus es300 or 330 system in their older lexus. i have 3 navigation systems that wouold work on your 99 es300.or any older lexus . each system would include the digital amp and jumper harness to replace your 99 analog amp. system a ..... the 2002 2003 es300 2 piece navigation system goes for 1245.00 and does not have rear view camera or live dvd input connerctor system b......... the early 2004 2 piece(gps computer is seperate and headunit has cd slot and tape slot) system has both live dvd input plug and rear view camera. connector and goes for 1445.00 complete with the amp and all the wiring .system c......... the late 2004 and 2005 es330 1 piece navigation system (headunit has both cd slot and map slot) goes for 1795.00 and includes the amp which has the voice nav in it and the jumper harness. the voice nav is in the computer in system a and b. but in c there is no external computer so you need to get the voice nav amp which included for the 1695.00 price.......................................................................................... you would think the 1 piece was the best system but you actually lose the live dvd movie input connctor in the 2005 which was deactivated due to goverrnment regs. so the 2004 system actually does the most things and is even less money but it is a little harder to install due to wiring to computer which included in my 1445.00 price. the factory rear view camera is a 200.00 extra and works by simply plugging into the rear camera connector . when your lexus is put in reverse the rear view camera comes on automatically. ............................................................................................................................................................... all the above 3 es factory nav systems units are es units and have no ac and data controls attached to then like all the other lexus models which makes instaltaion a brezee conmpared to the 2 piece factory nav systems on gs, ls, rx sc, gx . i have done factory installs on all the just mentioned models with the factory components but all of them could also take the es 330 navigation systems and not have to do the complicated ac contreol and data comntrol hookups. the other nice thing about the es330 hookup is the ease of installing a rear view camera. the regular lexus models rear view camera is very complicated and needs another whole television ecu com[puter to be able to have rear view.
